Hi Everyone,
It feels good to be writing again, albeit my heart is racing and my knuckles are trembling a little from nervousness. I don't know exactly what it is that has me worried, but I do know that it has been difficult for me to produce work here that is actually publishable. To ease myself back into writing, I'm keeping this newsletter brief. It's great to be back in touch, and I can't wait to hear about your recent endeavours before I reveal the reason for my artistic hiatus. Tell me everything that's happened in the last nine months (or don't).
I hadn't planned on taking a sabbatical; I had every intention of finishing the series on high-growth careers that I began last year. However, life took an unexpected turn. If you've been keeping up with me, you know that I recently took a sabbatical from work due to burnout and that I also tragically lost my mother during that time. Because of this loss and my precarious health, I was unable to engage with my work and responsibilities as I usually would. To return when the time was right, I took a break. The early half of this year was dedicated to finding my footing again. I still had no desire to put pen to paper or make any meaningful connection through my words. I also relocated to another country and started a new job in the corporate sector, all while dealing with domestic difficulties and loss. Taking care of myself became my first concern; I realized that my success at my job and personal life depended on each other.
I'm not here to tell you only tragic tales; I recently completed my Master's degree and am now officially a Business Psychologist. I completed training to become a NeuroLeadership© Brain-Based Coach and a PsyCap Potential© Practitioner. The next ten years of my professional life are now crystal clear to me, and I have a conditional offer to begin a PhD program. I settled back into my regular schedule, reconnected with my church family, and began to consciously work on strengthening my relationships.
I'm glad to be here again because I've been able to use what I've learned on my healing journey, in my studies, and in my professional experience to compile a wealthier body of information about how to improve the quality of your life. In case you haven't noticed, this newsletter is now titled "Well Working and Living" rather than "Chance on Life."
So why the shift now? Since your interests vary, I've decided to divide the topics of my work into four distinct categories. I'll do my best to outline the major points below:
Leader unlocked:
A well-working-and-living newsletter on leadership development for all looking to connect with their core, and understand their brain functions and psychological capabilities so they may reach their full leadership potential
Chance on life:
A well-working-and-living newsletter for navigating life transitions and small or significant moments of life
Joy at work:
A well-working-and-living newsletter for navigating work and connecting with true purpose at work
Fruitful vine:
A well-working-and-living newsletter for faith-based well-being resources for the Christian looking to optimize mental + financial well-being to unlock true purpose/potential
For convenience, I'll switch them out every week, so you'll receive one of these once a month. I'm hoping that making this commitment in public will force me to follow through. I can't wait to hear about the one(s) you plan to keep an eye out for beginning next week!
I'm interested in hearing your take on restarting and your stories of pausing to regain sanity and balance :)
Until we meet again! Feel free to join our career coaching WhatsApp group for access to useful resources and advice.
xoxo.
